Lulu Miller’s Favorite Podcasts of 2016 (In Song)
In the waning days of 2016, The Big Listen put out a call on social media for folks to call our Pod Line™ with recommendations of their favorite podcasts of the year. We got a great response. You’re all listening to a lot of amazing stuff. But one voicemail stood out to us.
Friend of the show, Lulu Miller, of NPR’s Invisibilia, called into the Pod Line™ with the most incredible recommendation. Well, 20 recommendations actually. Done in song.
It’s quite a feat of vocal improv and pretty hilarious to boot. It’s like “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” but with an unscripted list of 20, sung totally off-key. You owe it to yourself to have a listen. If you can’t make it through all 6:49 of Lulu’s voicemail opus, here’s a handy list of all her suggestions.
- Love Me
- Code Switch
- Embedded
- Snap Judgment
- 2 Dope Queens
- Sooo Many White Guys
- Alice Isn’t Dead
- Homecoming

- This American Life

- On Being
